I’ve been thinking a lot about peace and joy lately—two things we all deeply crave, but sometimes feel are just out of reach when life throws its chaos our way.
If I asked you, “Can Christians have peace and joy?” I’m sure your answer would be, “Of course!”
But here’s the real question:
Do you believe it for yourself?
Right now, in the middle of your messy, stressful, or overwhelming circumstances, can you confidently say that peace and joy are yours?
If you’re feeling hesitant or even doubting whether that’s true for you, you’re not alone.
We often tell ourselves things like:
“I’m just an anxious person.”
“My circumstances prevent me from having peace.”
“I tend to be a sad person, joy just isn’t for me.”
But the truth is, those are stories we tell ourselves.
We start to label ourselves based on our emotions, struggles, or even diagnoses—and we settle for less than what God has promised us.
And friend, I don’t want that for you anymore.
Peace and joy are not just fleeting feelings.
They are God’s promises to you, and they can be yours even when life feels far from perfect.
The Bible doesn’t promise us an easy life, but it does promise us peace and joy in the midst of life’s challenges.
So, how do we begin to shift our mindset and open the door to this peace and joy?
Start here with a few journaling prompts to reflect on today:
What stories have I been telling myself about why I can’t experience peace and joy?
What areas of my life feel most overwhelming right now? How can I invite God’s peace into those specific situations?
Where in my life have I labeled myself in ways that block me from experiencing joy?
What would it feel like to open the door to the possibility of peace and joy, even when things aren’t perfect?
I encourage you to spend some time with these questions and see where God is leading you.
Sometimes, all it takes is opening the door just a crack—acknowledging that maybe, just maybe, peace and joy are possible for you too.
And if you’ve been looking for more community and support on this journey, I’m opening up two spots in the Mighty Hearted Community.
This is a space for Christian women to come together, support each other, and work through the struggles and emotions that often hold us back.
And as your coach, I'm there with encouragement, strategies, and honest insights every step of the way.
If you’re ready to dive deeper into this journey and surround yourself with like-minded women who will walk alongside you, this is your invitation. 💛
